DEQ2496 Help
« on: 9 Nov 2008, 10:35 pm »
I was at a local hardware store and right next to it was a Guitar Center store, so I looked around
and seen a open box (new) Behringer deq2496 for $149 so I picked it up, got home and ordered the matching behringer mic
and mic cable to go with it.

I’m thinking of running my SB into the deq2496 than to a dac. Has anyone used XLR to RCA adapters
for digital in/outputs, don’t know if this will work. I could use the toslink from the SB to the deq2496.

Pete,

I have one of the BNC -> XLR adapters for the input if you want to give it a try. They are 110ohm AES/EBU and this contains a matching transformer from the 75ohm S/PDIF from your SB. You would need to stick a BNC/RCA on the end of it unless you have a S/PDIF cable with a BNC plug on it.

This site: http://www.awdiy.com has a fair amount of info on the DEQ2496, he offers mods for them.

Thanks for the offer Mike. Now that I looked in to it the pro audio stuff is outputting 110 ohms.

So I need a 110>75 ohm adapters (in and out) which the 75 ohm end are BNC and a couple of BNC>RCA adapters (to use the cables I already have).
Does it make a big different which adapters I get.

Ordered some Canare 110 to 75 ohm adapters and BNC/RCA in-line connectors hope this all works out, so I can get rid of my bass peaks and nulls.

Thanks
