Hey Woodsyi...  that big panel looks like a bass panel not a diffusor....Is it a diffusor that covered with fabric?   I'm probably just confused as usual.

Rob S.

Yes,

It's a big (to me) diffuser covered in fabric I got from Alan at SRL Audio.

Yeah woodsyi,

Don't forget the "large" diffusors at the early reflection points.....and the parts you don't see....extruded aluminum mounting hardware (no wires!) and solid construction that required a helper to carry down the stairs and mount.  All of this at breakthrough pricing.  I will NEVER sacrifice performance for a lower price....

Oh yeah,

I have 2 3' x 4' x 9" SRL diffusers at the first side reflection points too.

Of course I also have 10 Real Traps, 4 GIK panels and 4 8th Nerve corner Adapts deployed in the room along with hidden battings above the drop ceiling.  Every piece contributes to the whole in my opinion.

I can now see why you'd be interested on the Acoustic ART System woodsyi. FWIW, my room's no better looking visually, you do what you gotta do with what you got to do it with and I'm doing it with a combination of acoustic products from 8 different companies. :thumb:

Woodysi,
did you put batting above the entire drop ceiling?  I did just my room perimeter, as it was very time consuming stuffing 15in of fiberglass batting around all those metal grid pieces.  Then I did 4  2' x 4' ceiling tiles from Ethan in the sweet zone.

Do you think entire ceiling coverage of batting above the drop ceiling makes ceiling tiles not necessary?

Rob,

Like you, I did the perimeter with strong emphasis on the corners.  I don't think you need to do the whole ceiling.  There are cables and pipes running through there as well as the wires holding the drop ceiling grid.  I am not doing the middle portion. :nono:

Isn't it amazing how much R 38 batting you can stuff into a corner?

You need to use traps if the little buggers keep getting away.
