No need to introduce those open baffle speakers on AudioCircle.

Paul's creations have been discussed in many threads

I am selling one of the very first pairs of RPDs made by Paul, finished in natural bamboo.

The RPDs preserve the distortion free and transparent midrange of the RMDs but add a touch of warmth and texture thanks to the paper midrange driver.
The new 10inch woofers also present an easier load to amplifiers and allow for an 89dB sensitivity making the RPD overall more listener and equipment friendly without sacrificing any of the core qualities the Ronins are famous for.

The speakers come with the optional custom made shipping crates for added shipping safety. The speakers are in perfect condition and the crates will greatly improve the chances of the speakers arriving in the same condition as they left.

The speakers are located in SE Pennsylvania and a local pick-up would be welcome but I can ship the 120lb-each crated speakers if desired; or I can also drive 100+ miles to drop them off in the area.

They are also listed on AudiogoN

You can email me for additional pictures or questions.

My signature should make it obvious why I did not reference the 6-Moons review; that would have been self-serving.
All I can say is that over the past 8 months I have hooked them up to close to $40,000 worth of the finest electronics currently made and never did the RPDs seem to be limiting the system's performance. I can't find anything else to say about those speakers. Their value is truly off any current chart.

I am asking for $3500 (speakers + crates, normally a $750 option) + shipping and I'll cover pay-pal fees if relevant.

Is it fair to ask why you're selling them?

Yes, quite fair.

We have been living in the US for the past 7 years and the RPDs are located in a rather large room (30X14X9) which suits them beautifully. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your inclination) all signs seem to indicate that we  will be relocating to another assignment outside of the US, likely Europe, in the next few months and I am unlikely to have in the future a room that can allow the RPDs to give all they can.

So I am selling them here and now where I believe people will have a better idea of what they are and what they can do rather than wait till I am somewhere else, and will focus on rebuilding a system that can deliver almost as well while being more accomodating for a smaller room. I am not sure I will be able to keep the 110V McIntosh MA2275 either and its heat generation - it's fine in a large space but in 10x15 it might get warm in the summer. I just can't decide to list that one for sale quite yet (lots of personal stuff attached to it, I may just keep it and never play it again...).

There you go; the are still as much loved as they used to, I just need to get ready for what's ahead - but it also means that I am not quite in a rush to sell if the right offer is not here yet.

That's a beautiful speaker at a fair price methinks. I'd seriously consider these if I had the room, but alas my whole condo is about the same size as your one room. :(

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks PhisPhan,

You are correct, the RPDs are an incredible value but as mentioned they do not like being too close to boundaries. I have mine 5' away from front and sides but you won't need that much; 2 to 3' is enough, but certainly not less.

Another point I should mention in the spirit of full disclosure is that the more current your amp can deliver, the better they will sound.
I have found them to mate extremely well with the latest generations of warmer D-class amps - think Genesis, Bel Canto (Mono Reference) or Wyred 4 Sound; I've never tried them with Nuforce amps, so can't say how that sounds. McIntosh SS amps do well and so do the Musical Fidelity amps (well, the A1 I guess would cry mercy quickly but the others I have tried did very well).

If you want tubes, think push-pull and beefy transformers with the ability to drive loads below 4ohms. Again the McIntosh MA2275 does well but a pair of bridge MC275 mk4 was even better.

Don't hesitate to email or PM for pictures or questions; it's raining here today so I'll be doing "sales-support" all day  :D while listening to the RPDs.

I've uploaded pictures in an album and here is the link:
