Need help with Scott 299 tube integrated amp
« on: 18 Jan 2009, 06:47 pm »
Just like many of us I am an audio packrat.  In a similar vein I am hauling stuff out of the basement and deciding what stays and what goes, and here is today's puzzle.

I have a Scott 299 (299c, I think) tube integrated with the original metal cabinet, and as far as I know the original tubes.  It powers up, tubes light up, and it does everything it should, but no sound comes out.  I am fairly adept at trouble shooting, checking all the switches, etc. and have gotten nowhere.

Any suggestions would be welcome, but when all is said and done I want to sell it, and I want to be totally confident in how I list it.  If I can fix it easily, it would better for all.

Thanks,
Bob

You might also consider checking out the www.AudioKarma.org website. You'll find several Scott enthusiasts, and one of them might be able to help you troubleshoot your amp.

Check the high voltage supply. I assume there are no missing tubes, right?
