Shindo now available at Dollar Tree in Taiwan ...

 Just kidding. But seriously, a work associate who is thinking of getting some mid/high end equipment is scheduled for a trip to Taiwan later this year. Will he find lower prices on good equipment (pre, amp, CDP) over there compared to in the states? Is there an advantage to buying over there?

I live in Taiwan, I can tell you that audio equipment is as or more expensive here than the states. There is a minimum 20% import tax, even the Japanese brands are not cheaper here. If you want to purchase something from Usher though, it is 50%+ cheaper than the rest of the world.

byang - Thank you for your response. Usher - I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.
