Just my opinion but it's extremely unlikely you'll notice any difference between wire for your subwoofers. Get a spool of 12 guage wire at Home Depot and be happy.
Ditto.
My first recommendation was just to look cool in front of the boys, you know.
Agreed with Warner though. About anything reasonable that's a conductor will work fine for sub duties.
Romex, Home Depot (RCA brand), Walmart "Lighting", or any form of "generic" speaker cable etc..... will do fine.
It'll be fine Jim. Just like Las Vegas: Don't spend more than you can afford to lose (if it doesn't meet your expectations).

Years ago, on the advice of Big B of VMPS, I bought the 6ga stuff at Lowe's.  I think it was THHN wire/green jacket.  Incredibly cheap.

Unlike main speaker wiring where I find 16ga to be plenty sufficient and anything larger looses naturalness.....the big whopping copper wiring from Lowe's was demonstrably better as a sub cable than a whole host of other wiring tried.

Enjoy - John

I got that 6 gauge wire too.  I even widened Banana plugs to accept 6 gauge for soldering.  6 gauge is way too stiff to be tucked neatly along the walls for Swarm application.   BTW, I didn't hear the big deal that the reviewer heard with this wire on the RM speakers.  :|

Yea... there are a lot bigger things to concern yourself with, the room for one.

It seems solid core wire sounds better. Do not know why but again its fine.

Yup - I found it inferior to basic stranded 16ga stuff used on main speakers (more natural sounding)....but, I found the cheap Lowe's 6ga stuff to be beneficial with a 400 watt mono Audiosource amp and large, old NEAR passive sub .

The wire is indeed stiff stuff  :o

Canare 4S11, it has 2 14 gauge pairs.  Excellent wire for the money.  run it in the old quad star...I run it in all my mains in my HT room and for my sub.

I second this or the Belden wire... I have used both and they work better than Kimber 8TC in my system application.  The Kimber sounded leaner and was way more expensive.  I now have two 10' pairs of Kimber sitting in a box.
