Finding some freaking JFETs??? Building Buffers

Well I am working on making my own buffer now. It will save some money and produce better results from what I have read.

I can get stuff from Newark for next to nothing, but hell if I know what to use now that Toshiba does not make them...

Everywhere I look everything is in Euro's or Japan.

Anyone here got some suggestions?

If you're talking about 2sk170bl and 2sj74, they are sometimes available from www.ampslab.com (I bought 20 each unmatched) or www.tech-diy.com.  Jack will only sell a few at a time and provides matched pairs on request.

That will totally work. They do not cost much either! This is going rock.

There are a couple of guys on diyaudio in the trading section that offer the elusive jfets.  That is where I bought the ones I have on hand.  I haven't tested them, so I can't speak to quality but they are very easy to deal with.

Borbeley sells them, which you linked to, but at a commanding premium.

I've purchased from ampslab as well, very easy to deal with and quick shipment.

I went with Tech - DIY for the matching ones.
