Marbles Dymax servo subs

Moving along at a snail's pace....here are a couple pics of the what will become a serious butt kicking stack of servo subs for Marbles HT system.  He commissioned these quite a long time ago and has been very patient with the build process, which I greatly appreciate.  Things like this take time :thumb:  I believe they will be used along side a pair of Salk HT3's, Marbles can chime in on how this system will be configured.  I really hope to hear this system in the future.

Cabinets below are shot and curing, waiting to be rubbed to gloss finish in a week or two.....

104 sides and I can't tell you how much joinery.....

Sweet! I remember Rob telling me about these a while back and I'm sure they will be worth the wait.

What will you be using for a driver(s?) and an amplifier? And what is that colorful veneer that you're using? Thanks.

Cheers,
Robin

robin the driver is danny's 12" that he designed for brian ding of rythmic.
The amp is his top of the line servo.
These will be sealed
The veneers are bubinga and Birdseye maple.

I hate typing on this iPhone!

I hope you're not also driving like the idiots I see doing just that all the time on the highways,,, :nono:

VERY NICE! I love the wood combination and the figuring in the Bubinga. As you may have already noticed, I have found Bubinga and various figured Maples go together very nicely. I am working on another preamp right now with Bubinga and Quilted maple.

Will the amp be mounted in the subwoofer enclosure or an outboard enclosure?

Can't wait to see a picture of the complete system setup.

Here is a pic of the lone black sheep of the group.  Rob commissioned 4 so I figured I'd make an extra, anybody want it?  This cabinet has been rubbed out half way to it's final high gloss.  It will get the final rubbing at the same time as the other 4.

Danny & Christof,

WOW!  :o WOW!  WOW!  :notworthy:

That is without a doubt some of the finest cabinetry I have ever seen. The colors work so well together. I wish I could say I would take the lone wolf but it's not in the stars for me right now. Just out of curiosity what would it go for, amp and all? What would the final shipping weight be?

Keep up the good work!

Jake

I like that fancy headphone display rack, too!

Congrats Marbles!!
Chris's woodworking skill is truly outstanding. I've owned two of his Dymax subs for several years now and his cabinet is a piece of art.  :thumb:

I doubt if this is still available, but if so, or if one were to commision 1 or 2, how much would a finished one be?
Thanks

Your subs convinced me I needed to get Christof to build me some.  I even used the same birdseye trim that you used.   I hope you don't mind.

Not at all.

I assume these subs are for your 2CH system. So for curiosity, how are you planning to implement them with your pair of Salk HT3?

Holy S&#T that is sweet. Is that Waterfall Bubinga or Walnut Burl? If it's Bubinga, the combination with Maple is obviously one of my favorites. That would really match my system nicely  Just take a look at my avatar.

Yes, the burled Walnut sub is still available.  As Rob said, it's walnut and B.E. Maple and will be rubbed to a very high gloss level.  The driver cutout has been made and it's ready to accept one of Danny's 12" drivers.  Rob and I had the Aluminum spikes custom made for us by a very talented craftsman, they were not cheap but they do the job and get the driver 3" off the ground as specified by Danny for down firing configuration.  This will be the last (10 of 10) "Dymax" cabinet that I make.  I am happy with them in terms of quality/build but I simply cannot build them fast enough to make it worth my while, with my gallery opening in the spring it's time to focus on sculpture.  So that's it, I would like to get $1750 obo. for this last enclosure.  This does not include driver or amp, just the enclosure and spike feet.

Sorry, Rob, you are a great guy but I can't do the ol' buy 4 get one free one trick with these
