Just want to say I'm seeing Beck for the first time this Monday in Kansas City.  I'm excited!   :hyper: :banana piano:

Beck is great. I just got Modern Guilt and its not half as bad as some of the reviews, at least on vinyl. Enjoy the show.

I just got back from seeing him at Austin City Limits Music Fest, where he put on a pretty good show. He did a good job of re-imagining his songs live rather than playing them verbatim from the album.

I really bummed that I missed Beck on Saturday (only had Sunday passes) but I'm glad to hear that he put on a good show.

Did you happen to catch Foo Fighters on Sunday? Fantastic musicianship!! This is the 4th time I've seen them but this was probably one of if not the best show I've seen them put on.

I went all three days, but i'm not a big foo fighters fan and skipped their show. Beck was good, but he ended early and didn't play any encores. I thought Xavier Rudd and Sharon Jones put on the best shows i saw.

I saw Beck perform in the old Lowes Theater in Jersey City about 1.5 ago.  He really put on a great show.  He did a lot of older and newer stuff and did encores.  My wife and I really enjoyed the show.

Like above poster mentioned, he re-jiggered he songs to be a bit different live, not a whole lot but enough to give them a bit different flavor. I like it when artists do that so long as they don't kill the musicality of the original.  Nine Inch Nails back in the heyday did that too, usually opting to make it a bit harder metally live.

The music is fine....it's the recording that is abysmal (I have it on vinyl, too).  It sounds like the 'enhanced' mp3 they give the free download for.  Just terrible...I'm taking mine back to my record dealer and hope to get $1 back as a used trade-in.

So sad...he's such a talent  :(

Oh, I think they still do. I can't do the pit at their shows anymore.

I'm a big Beck fan but have to agree with TheChairGuy about the new release and I only have the ceedee.

I agree it's not the best sounding album, but I do like the fact that he seems to be back on track in terms of his songwriting.  Check out my review here:

Yeah, I agree with you guys that the SQ is not comparable to Sea Change for example, but on vinyl I can handle it because I like the music.
