Eye Candy = $$$$

Brass, chrome, crystal, gold, wood, CNC honed thingamagigs, etc..  There's allot of things than can be tacked on to electronic hardware. In the sound business you know as well as I that these things do not make one peep. What is not known is how expensive this stuff is. It's no different than customizing a car or truck. Rims, ground lighting and related items can tack thousands of dollars on to a vehicle.  The price of an amplifier can easily go from $4,000 to $8,000 because of mega eye candy. I'm not criticizing because trim and effects can look very nice.  Customizations cost allot and there can be tradeoffs, such as trim vs better quality components. You can have it both ways but be ready to shell out some money on a large scale. Why did I write this? Sometimes I believe we as consumers get hung up on looks instead of what's under the hood. If you like the outside, it's beneficial to know what the inside is like. I like to build from the inside out. That means our basic models start out with high quality components, top rate construction techniques and the latest revisions available at no additional cost. Trim and customizations are available, but will not effect equipment quality in any way.
