Power Conditioning with D-200's
« on: 14 Oct 2008, 01:56 pm »
Hi guys, been lurking for a while and finally registered.  Here is my current setup:

-> Squeezebox Classic, digital out
-> Bel Canto DAC3
-> Channel Islands Audio D-200's
-> Mirage M1 speakers

There are a lot of opinions on power conditioning, but thought I'd ask the main guy (Dusty) what his thoughts were about using them with his gear.  I have a Monster AVS-2000 voltage regulator and HTPS-7000 power conditioner, but have been thinking about getting a PS Audio unit.  Can you think of any detrimental effects of using these, or can the D-200's benefit from such products?

Thanks!
Aaron

Forgot to mention that I live in an old house, and the voltage can swing +/-10 volts, depending on what is on/off and the time of day.

With power amplifiers, I don't usually like using traditional "line conditioners" as they can be current-limiting. If you have a device that regulates line voltage without current limiting, it will be fine.
