Has anyone calculated what the real cost of Blu-Ray is these days - player + decent 1080p TV + 20 discs ( + preamp-processor for HT)?

Hey, the Industrial Revolution cost big bucks too, but people couldn't stop progress. Take Sweden for example: It cost major bucks in the 1800's to build a water canal system to reduce shipping transport time. As time and technology progressed turns out the canal was a wasted effort. But the retooling of the country to build the canal gave them a huge technical advantage over a lot of other countries and they never looked back.
Same for MC/HT the initial cash outlay is more. But as audio technology progresses we will be ready for it. You two-channel enthusiasts will be years behind trying to catch up with the times. :flame:

I'm waiting for the next format...  Every time there is a format war, it's mainly because of Sony...and they finally won one, well whoopdidoo.  I'll sit out on poo-ray and wait for solid state media.
