Neo Kit: woodwork group buy, etc.
« on: 29 Jun 2008, 08:29 pm »
Hi All,
Many have contacted me regarding cutting baffles, and/or complete knock down kits for Danny's latest "must have" creation. Just to recap, I have a CNC at your disposal. So may folks have helped me along the way in my audio journey, that I feel obliged to give back. So here's your chance.

I will machine gobs of baffles, and a few boxes, if you need, for the new kit (or any other GR Masterpiece, just ask.) Send me an email if you are committed to getting it done. Please do not ask me to "bid" anything, I wont do it. Each baffle for the NEO will be $17 plus freight. Complete knock-down kits will be $55/ea., plus freight. I will charge you $7 per pair to properly package them for freight. Not a lot of call for the tower model, but it's really not a big deal if you want it. If you are looking for different radii, let me know.

Baffles are 1.25", cabinet sides will be 1". No exceptions.

If you want to get crazy, just PM me. I will build you a complete veneered and finished cabinet ready for your drivers. Limited by your imagination, however, it must be in good taste. Solid modeled curvilinear designs are where its at for me, right now. I don't think you can "over build" anything GR can kick out, so get your wallet ready and lets do something cool... If you dare!

'Wish all of you the best.

Great offer, Eric  :thumb:
Remember, the PE baffles and grill frame have small magnets imbedded in them that serve to hold the grill to the baffle.  If people want that feature, you'd need to imbed magnets into your baffles.

6/30:  OOPS!  Correcting myself:  only the grill frames have magnets imbedded in them - they line up with the four corner screws that hold the baffle onto the cabinet.  I do it this way:  4 small neodymiums in each grill corner and 4 corresponding imbedded in the baffle underneath the veneer - invisible

I'd be interested in a complete knock down box.  Would you be interested in cutting out a front baffle for a pair of Danny's LS-9's?  That is what I really need.

...and thanks for your very generous offer to cut these Neo kits for next to nothing.

Hi Guys,
I just got a new liquid-cooled spindle for my router and updated the front end interface. I've almost got the bugs worked out, so it's time to commit. Sound off if you want to get milling on your kits. I have a couple of pet projects going for a show here in CO...

If you want to get yours before then, get your order in now. I'll machine all orders this coming weekend, then its my turn for a while. Several folks have contacted me regarding completed enclosures, as well. Same rules apply. I'd hate for you not to have your GR fix ASAP. Or worse, have to use PE boxes... After the show, I'll be setup to offer you complete, turn-key speakers, in addition to the kits, as radical or bare-bones as you please. I could be into a birch lam design, BTW. Danny will have to handle the MAGICO killing aspect though, I'm only in charge of the sawdust...

Holla' at me!

Nice offer, Kasey :thumb:  MAGICO killer, eh? Hmmm...I have a potential customer interested in something really "different", so that would be one option.  I just PM'd you about another option.  Please post a photo of your NC router so I can
