Clone Wars trailer

I saw this tagged onto the front end of Hellboy II.  Good grief!!!  What a piece of shit!  At first I thought it was for some lame video game, but no it looks like some lame ass animated movie.  The animation looked dead awful, and how about that Yoda voice?  Augh!  This might challenge the Star Wars Christmas Special for lameness, if not necessarily camp.  Sheesh!  It's not April 1st is it?

Why are they advertising an old movie?

It is clone wars III.  They follow the same storyline as SW but add a few scenes.  Kind of like the Star Wars book series.  The boys and I saw the ads on TV and were excited for something new/more.  Didn't even notice quality or the voice dubs...maybe that's like the audiophile/music lover thing  :)  I did see Jaba the Hut.  I hope they get that voice right

I saw this trailer a few weeks ago.  I actually thought that if they had done Episodes 1-3 as animated movies like these, I might have enjoyed them more...

I thought it looked goofy too. Whats the point? George Lucas lost his vision when he took that 10 yr haitus. Maybe he needs to add an extension onto his compound. heh. Arent the latest Star Wars kid centric? Is the Clone Wars for newborns?
Silly.

That's a real shame.  :shake:
Last I heard from Lucas was that he was done with the series and thoughts of future episodes were dead. I've been looking foreward to seeing all nine for thirty years now.
Was greaty dissappointed when he said he was stopping at six.

I haven't seen this trailer. Is it the last nine? Or is it some kinda "new series"?

From what I can tell, it takes place before Episode 3.  Anakin Skywalker is the hero, and he has not yet been turned into Darth Vader.

Oh ok. Thanks Phil.
So it's like a part "2.5" ...... kinda.
I'll have to Google for some info. I'm intrigued, but leery (not getting my hopes up) based on what you guys have said so far.

I've thought the same thing. Not that I want Lucas to die or anything like that. I just hope somebody would pick up the rights to the next three chapters and run with it.

Candidates.........?

- Stephen Spielberg?
- Robert Zemeckis?
- Mel Gibson?
- Jerry Bruckheimer?
- PhilNYC?

There already was a series of animated "Clone Wars" episodes, done by Genndy Tartakovsky of "The Powerpuff Girls" and "Samurai Jack" fame back in 2003 to 2005. I watched them with my nephew and they were OK. I have no idea why they're doing it again as a movie, but my nephew wants to see it.

Ohhhhh, OK. Now I know what you're talking about. That's one of those hokey kids cartoons. Yea I've watched a few of those with my son.
The movie is going to be THAT?....Nah, I'll pass. I might watch it on DVD but I doubt it.
Those are silly. I rank them right down there with all the foreign anime garbage. Yuk.

The PC I have at work doesn't have speakers, but I watched the video. Looks better than the TV series, but I still have my doubts. I guess I'm just 'old school' with my Star Wars stuff. I do like the modern animated full length features ("Cars", "Toy Story", "Nemo" etc...), but this animated version of Star Wars doesn't do anything for me.

Hang on, it could be good. I have read/listened to many of the off episodes of the Star Wars series, that are written by other people than Lucas (but I believe they are sanctioned) and there are some good stories in between the big 6. The move being discussed takes place between episode 2 and 3.

The series that takes place after episode 6 (Return of Jedi) is very entertaining and would be great if animated properly. I am hoping this animated clone wars movie is good.
