Whaddya know about the Marantz TT-15?

Anybody here heard the new Marantz TT-15?  If so, what are your thoughts?  Seems like quite a good 'table and a bargain too!

While I do have a few Marantz pieces and generally think the quality is very good, I have seen some slightly unfavorable reviews of this particular table. The first thing I don't like is the way it's priced with a $750 Clearaudio cartridge. Why not take that off and sell the table for $799? I have also heard that the motor can be a bugger to get just right so it doesn't send vibrations through the Acyclic plinth. The arm is a regular Clearaudio, but has an Ebony wood arm tube which really makes me wonder about the wood taking on water when it's humid, drying out and maybe even warping. I guess those are just some questions that come to mind. I also hate tables that have only 3 feet. They always seem to get tipped (like my Rega P3) and it is annoying.

Not to totally piss on your parade, I have considered the table myself, but not with that cartridge.

the reason most all the good turntables are setup on three pads is because it's virtually impossible to get all four pads in perfect alignment, but three points always constitutes a perfect plane. It's really a matter of physics that's applied to machinery and anything else that had tobe (and stay) perfectly aligned

Yea, but it's not really practical.

That would work for me, too!  Maybe they will offer it that way soon or perhaps you could find a dealer willing to sell just the table.

Yeah, I can see that a lighter plinth could tip over.  My Oracle Alexandria is quite heavy so it having 3 feet has never been an issue.

Where have you read reviews of this table, Wayner?

It was either Stereopile or the Absolute pound. It was a while back....like maybe when it first came out. My dial-up is really slow or I'd go look myself. I'm thinking Mr. Fremmer did it, but just can't recall. I do remember some of the comments, though. That always leaves a lasting impression. I was chasing a new TT on ebray but it went for too much. It was less cartridge but I remember it taking a left turn to about 1k, which it is not worth. Then you might as well get the Bluemotion by Clearaudio and pair it up with what ever you like. In case you didn't know, Clearaudio makes the table for Marantz.

All I got.

Thanks all,

I found the TAS review but can't find the stereophile review online.  Any links?
