Piano black Thiel CS3.5 loudspeakers in Baltimore. Speakers are in decent shape. The midrange driver in one is a bit crinkled, for want of a better word. It sounds fine and, in my opinion, should have a few years left before it needs to be rebuilt by Thiel. I have contacted Thiel and they told me as long as the driver sounds fine, don't worry to much about it. They can rebuild the driver for $150. I recently sent the EQ to Thiel for adjustment, which they did, free of charge, including return shipping. Great customer service! The cabinets on this pair are in decent shape. Not mint but not worn to hell either. So, the speakers look and sound great and the EQ was just serviced. Good way here to get into a truly full range classic for very little. I do not have boxes and have no interest in shipping these anywhere, they must be picked up at my home. I do not have the spike set that originally came with these. I do have the original manual. Pick up for $475 cash or will consider swapping for a decent phono pre.

Hey Doug, how the hell are you! For the most part, I really like the Thiels. I just think they deserve better than I can give them. My set up is NOT up to the level of what the Thiel's demand. Like every Thiel I've ever heard, they are pretty demanding of what you feed them. If an LP or CD is very well recorded, then the big Thiel's just sing. If the recording is not excellent, then the Thiels will chew it up and spit it out. I have various pairs of other speakers laying around the house and tend to just swap stuff in and out. As you know, I AM a gearhead. [it's a curse!] They are also, for my taste, a bit large. I'm thinking along the lines of a slim tower, maybe something like a Totem Hawk or something. As you mentioned, for someone looking for a truly full range loudspeaker for VERY little cash, and assuming they have the gear to go with them and do them justice, these are a hell of a good loudspeaker. If no one bites, then the worst that could happen is I just keep them. I'd hate to see them collect dust in a closet, so I'm just hoping to find them a "nice home".

Wow, that's a killer deal for someone.  I had a pair these (teak) long ago and they were terrific speakers.  Good luck with the sale!  Tom
