For sale is a working Teac A-4070 Reel tape player. I plays in both directions which is a must for pre-recorded tape enjoyment.
The mechanical condition is excellent, it has a brand new capstan belt and I have been using it as my main player until I just purchased a Revox B-77 for triple the price. The heads seemed fine to me, though I am no expert.
I like the sound of 7 1/2 IPS pre-recorded tapes much better than vinyl.
This was my fathers and has been in very slight use for years.
Cosmetically, the front is excellent, but the back has some dings and the wood case looks mediocre. Not visible from the front. the back is also missing a footer, only a problem if you want to sit it horizontal instead of vertical, which never made much sense to me anyway.
