The arrival of my new extreme monos deserves a celebration. A trip to the wine room and a bottle of my favorite Pinot Noir should do the trick. After a short warm-up I turned up the volume ever so slightly.  The sound emanating from my Martin Logans seemed unchanged from my previous Iverson Eagle2.  That too was a pretty good amp. Being an old drag boat racer, I knew that I had to get the feel of these babies before putting my foot in it, so I increased the volume a bit more. The bass seems tighter and the midrange is more forward, which only enticed me to turn it up a bit more. OK, now the speakers are much larger and more detailed.  The bass is super-tight, almost too tight. This only raises my curiosity, so I put the pedal down more. WOW, my speakers have never sounded so effortless at this level. This only brought out more of the drag racer in me, so I put my foot in it good. Holy sh.. notify the neighbors, Nickelback is playing in my living room. As I closed my eyes I could see each one of them right in front of me. Then all of a sudden a shriek let out that sent me diving for the volume control, only to realize that it was a squeak in the guitar sleeve. Never heard that before. After inhaling smelling salts for a few seconds I was ready to continue, but now at a more comfortable level. I listened for hours, amazed at how my speakers seem more relieved, less strained. A tap on my shoulder would bring me back to reality. My wife handing me the phone, said “it’s for you”. Now who could be calling at 10:30 at night? A complaining neighbor? No, it was Klaus, wanting to know how I liked the extreme monos. Now that is what I call the epitome of customer service. And he tells me it is only going to get better….
Thanks Klaus!  :D

Congrats on the acquisition of the extremes.  You just want to crank it up as loud as possible, don't you?  My experience also.  Enjoy.
