Hi All,

Just received a PDF from Hi-Fi Choice in the UK which states:

                     This is to certify that

                 Bryston BP26/Bryston 3B SST

has received a silver award in the category of

BEST STEREO AMPLIFIER OVER 5000 Pounds

If they're going round handing awards to the 3B as best amp over GBP5k, then they should take a listen to the 14 and 28!

Well, there are people that might argue, that the smaller 3B, played at normal levels enjoys a certain delicacy that its monster power brothers can't attain.

Could be wrong, but I believe that Hi-Fi Choice reviewed the BP26 and the 3BSST as a pair and made the award accordingly. Don't quibble. Kudos to Bryston. It's nice to see especially the BP26 getting the recognition that it deserves.

Correct it was the 'Pair' that got the award.

I must disagree  :D
I had plenty of experience with 4B SST and 7B SST, there were no issues whatsoever with 4Bs ability to drive my speakers in terms of bas control and power reserves, but the reason I went to 7B SST is exactly “a certain delicacy” that 4B could not provide, what 7B does (or does not do) in midrange is clearly audible, there is a certain ease and natural openness to the sound that makes 7B SST fantastic amplifiers in absolute terms.
I have not heard 28B SST, but based on my experience I can say that the monster brother 7 beats the leaving s*** out of any amplifier I have heard, not just Bryston models.
Again, my ears, my speakers, my room  :D
