Trends T-10 and UD-10.1 making the rounds
« on: 11 May 2008, 12:18 am »
Hey Gassers--got in a Trends Audio T-10 15 watt Tripath amp and a UD-10.1 USB DAC a while back and both are neat little units. The UD-10.1 sounds great for $$$, but haven't tried the T-10 as my system is a bit much for this little guy to drive. I loaned both pieces out to Alex a while back for a good listen. Anybody else in town that wants to giv'em a listen, contact Alex and post some feedback.    http://www.trendsaudio.com/EN/Product/USB_Audio_desc.htm

I'd like to try them out.  With hot weather coming, I might need a "cool" setup for the Abbys.  Squeezebox>Trends USB>T amp.  I'll get with Alex and see if I can borrow them for a while.  Thanks Chris

And I'll plug them into the BPT 2.0   :thumb:

The quality of the Trends UD-10.1 can be stepped up quite nicely with a power supply upgrade to a Channel Island VDS-SB. It's a huge improvement over the USB power and good improvement over the battery PS. A Bolder Cable Nitro DC cord steps things up quite nicely also. I just love this USB transport with my HTPC system and of course with my BPT BP2.5.  :thumb:

Cheers,

 Hey BPT

Sorry It's me thats the holdup. They showed up at my Altec Tasteing session, Alex brought them and I thought they belong to Chris.

What I didn't do was give them a play on my Altec systems. Give me 2 days and I promise I'll give them a fair listen to see how the amp compares to my DHT SET and PP amps.

PM me and we can arrange returnung your amp and dac. Thank for the use for both.

  Have fun !
  Willie
