Completed Piccolo...

Way back in this thread, I got the Piccolo running. Still left to do was something with the enclosure that was appropriate for the Piccolo. The lettering is always a problem, and the best choice, silk-screening, is out of my budget. I settled on homemade waterslide injet decals from here. A little tricky, since they get sprayed with a clear acrylic spray after printing, and it is tough to get this done without the ink bleeding. Took three or four trys to get it good enough.

The hard part was 'paint or no paint'. I decided that the natural aluminum would look nice, so a whole lotta elbow grease and fine sandpapers (400, 600, 1000), and a buffer wheel installed on the bench grinder shined up the finished product nicely.

I didn't like the open big holes around the phono jacks, so some Mylar washers and some light-duty springs off of a junked Pioneer covers the hole when a cable is not inserted. I think Jim did something like this with the Piccolo pictured on his website.

I'm happy with the results, and happier with the sound.  :D

Note the ingenious use of the nanners to prop-up the Piccolo for its photo shoot.

Wow, amazing job friend!  :thumb:

You must be pretty psyched by the results. That looks totally professional. I'll have to use those decals on my guitar amp I've built.

Thanks for posting!
