6ES8 as a sub for 6DJ8/6922/7308???

I was wondering what the issues would be using a 6ES8 as a sub for a 6DJ8 application?  I know it's a variable MU tube, but would that be noticeable for audio applications, and if so, how much?

It will work fine as a cathode follower but not well as a gain stage because of the variable mu.   The variable mu, ensures that it isn't linear at all, in fact it was designed to not be linear.  This will cause mass distortion.   Even with feedback it would be unsuited in most audio applications except for CF (buffer).
