How much are you willing to pay for a album just for one song?
Recently I was looking for the Song 'Jeopardy' by Greg Kiln. I asked the sales clerk if he might have the song. By chance he had the cd which he claimed he had ordered years ago for someone else who never picked it up.
He wanted $32 bucks for the cd Greg Kihnspriracy band, he claimed it was a rare import. I was reluctant to pay that for a cd that I figure had only the one good song. The sales clerk talked me into buying it as he said I would probably like the other songs. Well he was wrong, I liked only the one song and I thought I foolishly paid too much, but I least I have the song.
Yesterday I scored better. I was looking for the song 'Back on the Chain Gang' by the Pretenders. Paid $14 bucks for the one song. This time however there were several good songs on the disc.
 You win some you lose some.

Interesting, I don't think I have any albums where I only like one song.  I sometimes buy an album for a song, but I usually end up listening to the whole thing.

I usually buy music online 5 or 6 cds at a time to reduce shipping cost. I will look for albums over several weeks and then place an order. Occasionally I browse music stores in between taxi fares. It's usually a time waster because I won't pay or gamble on a cd of a band or artist that I have no idea their style or if I will like their music. So I end up looking for songs I've heard on the radio that I think would sound awesome on my MC stereo. If I didn't have a hi-end system I would be content with a download.
Buying a cd then comes down to how bad I want one song. If there is more than one good song on an album, bonus!

Well i paid $45 for a copy of star sailer by Tim Buckley for the song - Song To The Siren looks like i made a deal as the used ones on amazon are going for $86
