Clamp question

I've noticed that my clamp doesn't clamp at all, or hardly at all. When I have the clamp fully tightened as much as it will go the black portion still is loose and can even be wobbled a bit. Is this normal?

Mine tightens very tight, so I would say yours is not normal.

Josh,

Do you have the little delrin washer that goes under the record? That takes up part of the space. You might also check to see if the record spindle is threaded into the bearing spindle all the way. I have seen Chris' back off before.
