Unusual chunky design, beautiful warm cherry wood top from a company that's pumping out a lot of award winning amps at the moment.

Fantastic sonics - better detail than the Odyssey amp I had, with excellent bass as well and natural open midrange. Beats sophia's el34 and certainly the onix sp3 by direct comparison.

Description: (pulled from "Ear" review)

The R6.6 employs two "GEC" KT66 replicas from Guiguang of Guangxi, China, To maintain the characteristic sound of the classic KT66. a dedicated KT66 circuit was employed in the power stage to achieve the classic push-pull. Class A configuration. For the first SRPP stage, Sovtek 12AX7LPS tubes are used with 60s NEC 12AU7 NOS acting as the driver stage, The R6.6 is a fixed bias adjustments for each KT88 for optimal tube operation. All in all we nave four KT66 two 12AU7 and two 12AX7 vacuum tubes in this amplifier, complemented by a toroidal power transformer and an output transformer. The company states that they are the same as the ones used. In their higher priced Signature series, Additional choke filtering is employed to assure a clean DC supply.

My description:

Simply the best sounding amp I've ever heard with my Alons or Silverlines. Selling because I'm building my own amp. There is some hiss from the 8ohm output and very little from the 4 ohm output (which I use for my 8 ohm speakers w/ excellent results). I (23 years old) can hear it 6 inches from 91dB speaker, but not in listening position 5 feet away.   EDIT - turns out this was a radio station my 25' rca cables (don't ask) were picking up.  Amp is now dead quiet.

Incredibly musical amp, without being obviously colored or "tubey." Rated 7/10 because of the one faint scratch happens to be on the front - the rest is perfect as far as I can tell. Comes with original triple boxing.
