SW-12B Specs vs SW-12A
« on: 6 May 2008, 05:26 am »
I have a pair of the SW-12B drivers I'm getting ready to build small sealed enclosures for.  I noticed in an earlier post that Danny stated the optimal ported volume for the newer drivers is about 3.5 cu ft, while the web information page for the driver lists 2.3 cu ft.

I'm assuming the volumes on the web sight are for the SW-12A drivers and have not been updated.  What is going to be the best volume for a sealed enclosure for the SW-12B's?

Thanks much.

Rick.

The website says 1.2 cubic ft. sealed.

Based on the factories measured parameters on the sample, the SW-12B was going to need a bigger box. But once I got production units on hand, burned them in and measured them, I found the parameters actually very closely matched those of the SW-12A. Optimal ported box is 2.2 cubic feet. Optimal sealed is right at 1.2 cubic feet.

The current measurements on the web site are correct.

Ok.  Good deal.  Thanks for clearing that up Danny.
