Well, I did a search and came across the discussion about the SP2 and a similar problem "
SP2 makes popping noise when changing channels on cable receiver". But, I've got an SP1 and not sure if there's a way to fix it for the older stuff too.
It's been a problem mostly since I got my TiVoHD (don't remember it with my Motorola cable box--the prime suspect form the earlier discussion), and now with a new set of PMCs (GB1s as LR, and a new DB1M-Ci) I'm worried about my tweeters. Haven't noticed any problems with other digital inputs: CD/DVD (Denon DVD-2900), Blu-Ray (Pioneer BDP-94HD) and streaming audio (Apple Airport Express), but, when casually surfing on my TiVo I keep getting the very loud, at times, squeals out of my speakers.
I did just switch to 'Large' for my fronts, but, will need to go back to small to see what happens. It happens when switching channels, stopping and starting recordings, and such. I've seen it happen with both stereo and surround sound (seen both ProLogic 2/0/0 and Dolby Digital 3/2/1).
Any help? (How do I check firmware on my SP1, I just need to read fast when it goes through the startup?
