Terminating networks for speaker cables (basically, to filter out RFI).  Here:

Quite interesting. It might be worth trying - however, I wonder how my LF55 would react to this kind of load?

Hugh - any comments?

i LOVE his "perfect"way of putting quality in his creations
however i would prefer braiden ( is that the word for interwoven in each other?) cables for common mode rejection

this is a nice example:
of such a speaker cable ( the big inner tube is Teflon, but you can choose to make yourself from raw unbleached cotton within a rol of rice paper

i got this from http://www.elementcable.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27_30&products_id=81

Looks very elegant, Jens, but I can't figure out the circuit.......

If I could see it, then I'd comment further.  I will say one thing, that speaker cables, and even speakers, can act as RF antennae and pick up nasty signals which can enter a high speed amp and play havoc with hum and beat noise.  A 3.3nF cap across the outputs scotches this RF and is well worth it on very fast amps, like my later designs.

Thanks to Andy and his Maggies which have vertical, planar voice coils, to my astonishment I found this out very recently, a revelation.

Cheers,

Hugh

Hi Hugh,

The schematic should be fairly easy to see from the photo on page 27 of this PDF file:

http://alanmaherdesigns.com/Documents/HRSCF_Project_rev-1.pdf

Cap values are 3 x 3650 pF, 1 x 360 pF, 1 x 36 pF, resistors are all 10 ohms.
