Looks a bit classier and more substantial, too. Kudos for (belatedly) recognizing the need for MC bass management- that's crucial for a one-box design like that.

Wonder how the sound will compare with the current models?

If the supply on the 50's dries up before the new one is available (nov 31), it'd be interesting to see if the prices go back up....

These units have a boat load of technical features and advancements!

Practically speaking what more would you want?

And the prices are very competitive (don't let Sony read this) when you compare it to their stereo solid state receivers from a couple of years ago.

These products and their pricing may be in response to Dell's announcement to create a complete and integrated electronic home market where wireless networks support home theater, flat panel TV's, desktop PC's, portable PC's, digital cameras, PDA's, etc. All this equipment will be built by/for Dell and be out by Christmas (see recent article in Time). I just got a Dell catalog that also states that they have partnered to offer high speed internet access.
