i can tell you from my years of experience with "high-end" (high-cost really) speaker cables that price means nothing at all. i went from a full nordost setup (pc's, sc's. ic's) all costing close to $10k, down to a bit cheaper transparent super sc's, down to harmonic technology pro 9+'s and now to river cable flexygy 6. the river cables cost me under $300 direct from the manufacturer and has blown away my nordost frey sc's, the transparent and the harmonic tech. i am still confused as to why such a cheap cable is so phenominal in my system. for the last few years i have been changing sc's in and out because i was always gaining in one area, but giving up in another. the river cables are the best sc's i have heard in my system to date and they were thousands cheaper than the cables i thought were okay. i really thought that i was missing the last bit of "music" from my system because i needed to upgrade to the higher-up-the-line cables from each manufacturer. truth be told, these cheap ($$$) but beautifully cosmetic cables have been extraordinary as a cable. so, yes, there are times when price means squat. i don't know why these cables are not as popular but i think many audiophiles discount them because of their price. i really wasn't expecting much from them but was attracted by their very favorable reviews and great pricing (i changed things around and now needed 6m runs of sc). not that it matters, but my system costs over $30k. so yeah, check these4 cables out and also try out soundstring cables. i have a set coming in a couple of days just to compare the the river's and they are close in price.
