for the suggestion box: holes in the cap locations so that tie wraps can be run thru the board to secure the cap.

Don't forget that you have to burn in the tie-wraps. Otherwise, the outgassing will smear your HF response.

i plan on raising the caps from the board with Tums.

Pat, you can often drill right through the board without causing harm.  I've done it many times.  Just find a spot that has no etch.  Ok to drill through the ground plane.
