I must sell these due to space issues as well as finacial reasons. I will consider partial trades for a VPI turntable or possibly other equipment.
These have recently been upgraded in a big way! Mike Farnsworth of Talon, personally built the latest and greatest balanced crossovers and has drastically improved the top-end as well as the bass. The original sound got somewhat of a bad rap due the "recessed" mids. This upgrade has mad them sound like a different speaker! They are now a Khorus-X MKII and then some. Much more open and airy(to say the least) and more efficient. That upgrade alone was over $1640.00. The new(2 months old) x-overs are superior to the MKII version and it shows. The bass is the best that I have heard as they will go low and very tight. The 2nd upgrade was having them bi-wired with expensive, heavy-duty solid copper binding posts from Cardas which are mounted on 1/8" thick aluminum plate recessed into the base and not into the speaker cabinets themselves. Very nice to have the option of bi-amping or just run them normally. Tiger maple cabinets are in very good shape, as well as the drivers and grills. Simply beautiful bookmatched curly maple! I am a furniture maker and I am very impressed with the build quality. The thick bottom plates are dovetailed. MUCH better looking than the newer Talons in my opinion. I prefer not to ship these at this time, although I do have the original shipping crates. I might consider shipping if no local interest is generated. I am near Erie, PA and will deliver or meet in a 150 mile radius(Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Cleveland area, etc.)for gas fees. If these are bought at my asking price, the delivery is free. Paypal users add 3% and of course, cash will be even better. Comes with the manual and upgraded spikes. If you would like to audition these wonderful speakers, that is no problem. These are from a non-smoking home. So if you are interested and have a hi-end TT and want to make a fair offer, I am open to deals.
