Finally sold my Sony SCD-1 and have found a new pair of speakers locally, so these old friends must go. They are around six years old, and were purchased brand new by me from an authorized dealer. They were one of the last pairs of the original De Capos prior to the release of the "i" series. I purchased (and installed) the upgrade kit from Divertech, which included a new pair of the "i" series tweeters and capacitors. Honestly, I did not hear a huge difference, but I left the new tweeters in. I will include the old tweeters with the purchase. (See Absolute Sound issue no. 132, October/November 2001, for a rave review of the pre "i" De Capos.)
I am going to try for a local sale for the time being, which means within an hour or two of NE Ohio. I highly encourage you to come and see and listen to them, but I'd be happy to meet you halfway if you prefer.
The speakers are piano black and in very nice shape. The photos look crappy (it's really hard to get a good photo of piano black with a cheap digital camera). I'd rate them 8//10 on the Audiogon scale to be conservative, but they are in very nice shape with no cosmetic damage to speak of. Includes original box, manual, and grill covers.
Asking $1225/best offer.
Ii also have a pair of 24" Osiris stands that are very nice.
Please PM with any questions.
