Hi i am interested in these speakers!

I am wondering how they would react to my system:
electrocompaniet eci2 (amplifier)
ah njoe tjoeb 4000 cd (player)
and in a small room, placed nearby the backwall (plenty of distance to the sidewalls)?

Also i would like to know where i can listen to omega speakers? I live in Belgium...

kind regards,

Hi,

You can buy them from Frankfurter Hörgesellschaft in Germany:

Why don't you give them a call? Maybe they'll give you a home demonstration...

well i sent them a mail, and they give me a friendly reply saying that they dont have any model in stock at the moment as they switched the programme more to Ocellia fullrange speakers.
but i could still order them...

anyway... i dont know the price for omega speakers (here in europe),
i am looking for speakers who tend more to a warmer (not tiring) sound, especially the kinds who are not bright in the treble,
this because i am very sensitive on the high regions (meniere disease :()
i would like to hear people's opinions on partnering speakers for my system?
(budget 1500 euro)

thanks in advance,

roy

Hi, I own the XRS, and would probably recommend an 8" Omega instead based on the statement above. The XRS are not at all tiring to listen to, but they are not warm... they are very fast, detailed, with great high end extension. The Maxhemps I heard are a lot warmer with a bit better low end, plus they still have a lot of detail, speed and extension, although they are not quite up to the XRS in these areas.

I ordered my speakers without listening first, and got a better product than I hoped for. I think you'll probably feel the same way. Why not just order form Louis and have them shipped? The Maxhemps are probably around $1500 euro with our weak dollar, you might as well take advantage

Your amp will be fine with the Omegas, but getting tubes in the system can't hurt. I'm using a Trends T-amp with a good tube preamp and am very happy. There are some amp threads on the Omega board to check out...

thanks for your thougths on this dave!
yes i thought of buying them in the us because of the weak dollar,
but there are taxes involved when importing them into another country plus shipping costs...
