hi lonewolf,

yup, the adamantes' are nice, & i will likely regret letting them go, but i can only afford to keep so many toys.   :?

initial reaction to the piega's is that they are extremely detailed, but w/o being at all harsh or overly bright - in fact, they are quite warm sounding.  a stark contrast to the way they look.  i am actually not too keen on the aluminum finish; i wish they were wood.  they also float an extremely expansive soundstage, the sound is detached from the speakers.  also wery nice dynamics, if not quite up to the best i've heard, w/speakers that are far more efficient than these.

right now, i am an extremely happy camper.  i am anxious to hear carlman's impressions of the c8ltd's, once he gets them into his larger digs.  for my use, i think i would actually prefer these smaller pf ltd mkll's, cuz i cross them over to subs at 80hz.  both use the exact same mid/tweet coax ribbon, & w/smaller woofers & a narrower speaker face, i think the p5's might have a tiny adwantage above 80hz, when they're crossed over to subs...

i am also anxious to hear what carl thinks of his new (to him) hot-rodded mcintosh mr65b tuna.   aa

Can you tell me more about those Piegas? What version did you get? Are they all metal? And how do they sound?

the model # is p5 ltd mkll.  for the rest of the answers, look at my prior posts.  now, do not turn this thread  into another thread like the zu def pro's f/s.  unless, of course, you wanna dig up your mother to sell raffle tickets for my diapasons...

bump - these really do sound as good as they look.  and, they like tubes.  and, no crossover on the midwoofer.   (like the reference audio speakers.)  your wife/s.o. will love 'em!   :green:  while i would like to see these get more use in another dwelling, my s.o. hopes i don't sell 'em..
