Al asked me to post something for him on his behalf.

Al we be away from the forum for a while as he attends to more important matters in his life at this time. Al's father-in-law has been in the hospital (ICU now) for the past week or two. Recovery is not likely, and as many of us know it is not easy saying goodbye to a close family member. I know this is very hard on him and his family right now. They are very close with him and he has been living with Al and his family for some time now. I was lucky enough to have met him when I visited with Al and his family this summer during our vacation to the North West.

Al, my heart felt sympathies and prayers are for you and your family. Hang in there buddy.

  I just went through this with my wife's mother, who was in ICU for almost two weeks before she passed.  This is not an easy process.  I just hope his father recovers.

Yes been a long hall so far he has been in ICU now for 6 weeks 3 on life support 3 off and then this weekend a turn and back onto life support with a major infection now.

He is a fighter for sure, and as my father n law lives with us not on his own it has been tough on my wife as she is the only child and her mom passed away a few years ago to complications from diabetes's.

Well we just hope he comes threw.

My father n law was the person who hand crafted Terry Fox's limb's while he was on his journey.

You're doing the right thing.  Nobody, medical experts and friends alike cannot offer the same level of support that close family members can under the circumstances.  Your presence along with your steadfast cheerful words of hope and encouragement will be a great source of strength to him.  Hopefully things will take a turn for the better soon.
