I purchased the Odyssey stratos monos special enhanced at RMAF last year with the Candela and Loreleis.  I thought it would be money well spent to upgrade the standard PC's Klaus supplies with the amps. I first installed a signal cable red storm PC in the Candela and later changed it out with a  Cryoed Volex PC recommended to me by some on this site ( I installed a cryoed volex PC into my CI dac also).  I left these cables in the pre amp and dac for about 9 months and last night began swapping PC's to determine if I had lost anything soundwise by using  the volex instead of the odyssey cable in the Candela.  I compared the odyssey PC's in the amps to the Volex and the volex in the candela to signal cable red storm PC's.  Bottom line Klaus' standard PC's blew away the Volex and Signal cable PC's. The Odyssey PC's gave more blackness, and room between instruments, high end is sweeter, sounstage more focused and low end more "there".  The music is much more emotional sounding and engaging.  I'm writing this because I believe there have been others who have bought the Monos/Candela and  may be using some of the inexpensive PC's reviewed and recommended on audiophile web sites also.  My advice if you haven't tried it is to remove the signal cable/volex level  PC's  and give the Odyssey PC's a listen.

I was pleasantly surprised.   aa

I think you mean Element cable Red Storm, which is a cable meant for digital sources.

I am using Black Sands Silver PCs on my Mono SEs and Candela.  Trust your own ears!

It is the Element cable red storm - I used it on my dac, then upgraded to the Volex.....finally am using a MAC HC on the dac which to my ears is better than the lesser cables.  That being said Klaus' cables bettered the volex and red storm in all applications.

Black sand is the way I would go also - but spending $200 + per cable is out of my league right now.

I used Volex power cords with Pass and Seymour male plugs for a couple months on my Mono Extremes.
Then made some DIY power cords with parts from Cryo Parts with Furutech male plugs and IEC's and CryoMax III wire.

Very nice power cords with my Mono Extremes and a great value if you build them yourself.

I built my own with Belden 83803 and  Pass & Seymour 5266-X AC plug / Schurter Straight IEC  and am very happy with them

The regular power cord is a copper 14/3,  which is actually from Taiwan.  Surprise,  surprise.   We buy them in quantities of 500,  so the price is good.  I listened to maybe 8 or 9 a few years back,  and this standard one is simply quite good.

Now,  every pc will make a difference,  I just can't state absolutely if this is a step forward or backwards,  if it is a small step or a big leap.  There are so many variables involved here.

HOWEVER :::::  for our customers,  we have special deals on Quattro P/C's,  for $ 75.   And thaht cord works well no matter what system.

Late,

Klaus
