Same tweeter and design as the Stereophile Class A L-707's, the L-505 is a superb monitor - the best I have come across, and selling only because I found a great deal on Merlin VSM-MM's which I have lusted after for years.
I've had interest and a couple of offers from my ad at Audiogon (one at $1,825 but the member needs to raise funds - a grammy award nominated engineer just like the rest of us!) but no firm deals, so I thought I'd offer them $100 lower to my friends here at the Circle before I lower the price there.
$1,825 OBO + ship
Here's the full Audiogon listing:
http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?spkrmoni&1197329462"The level of detail that the L-505 reveal is simply jaw-dropping. This speaker will motivate you to get the best possible mix." Joe Hanninnigan, Mix Magazine
"The L-707's cumulative spectral-decay plot (fig.9) is characterized by an astonishingly clean, quick decay of the transient sound. This is simply superb (overall) measured performance." John Atkinson, Stereophile
"The 707's sound is in the same league as that of the best loudspeakers I've ever heard, including Egglestons, Wilson Watt/Puppys and Dunlavy SC5's." Bob Katz, Sound Engineer
