These are some amazing, very dynamic, and really musical full range speakers patterned after the now famous Hornshoppes.
http://www.thehornshoppe.com/When A/B'ed against the HornShoppe we could not hear any differences between the two, except I found that my clones did image a bit better due to the sloped front baffle. I have really enjoyed these for several years. They replaced a set of Newform Research 645's. Yes. they are that musical. The NewForms cost over 3 grand, and I really like them as well. I usually live a pair of speakers for a few years and then try something different. That's why I am selling these. The journey continues.
The drivers are the 4" Fostex 126. Very efficient. Can play loud with a few watts. I also have a pair of the highly sought after original Fostex 4" 108 drivers, which are included in the sale. Dustcaps have the pushed in mod, done by little fingers. There was no sound improvement however. They sound the same as stock.
These Horns are made of Baltic Birch throughout. This is extremely dense wood and beautiful to look at. I am a licensed carpenter and take pride in my work. So these speakers are nicely built. The base is loaded with a sand/rock mixture for stability.
