Sapphire XL- Anyone in the Chicago area
« on: 4 Sep 2007, 05:09 pm »
I am very interested in the Sapphire XL and, before purchasing them,  I was wondering if there is anyone in the Chi area who owns a pair and would let me listen to them. I will be using them in a 20’ by 15’ living/dining room area. So, any comments would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Nick

Nick:

If nobody steps up, just wanted you to know that we will have our new listening room up and running within 4-6 weeks. I'd be happy to arrange a demo for you. We're about 5 hours from Chicago. We're planning on scheduling mostly early evenings and weekends . . .

Mike,

That is great news. When I called yesterday, theperson whom I spoke to said that you are closed on weekends and didn't say anything at all about the listening room.
I will try to wait till then.
Thanks,
Nick

Nick:

We're answering phones and working out of what is still a construction zone  :D  So we're not really formally talking about the listening room yet. I just know that we should have it up and running within 4- 6 weeks and that it will be a by-appointment-basis.

Mike,

Didn't you have a 'dealer' in the Chicago area not-too-long ago?  Jammin Audio or something like that as I recall.

Nick,

Sorry but I'm no longer carrying Mike's line of great speakers. It has nothing to do with the quality of build or sound. Mike makes outstanding speakers for the price point.

However, as you know ACI is a sell direct manufacturer. Mike and I were trying an experiment with having dealers while still going direct and it didn't really work out as planned. We mutually agreed that this wasn't working and chose to not continue the experiment.

Mike is an awesome guy with a great product and customer support. The product sounds great and they (ACI) have an excellent auditioning/return policy if you want to try them in your own home. You can't go wrong with his product if it suits your needs and taste. ACI and Mike are certainly some of the really good people in this industry.

Best of luck and give them a try.

Great to hear from you! Folks, this runs both ways. If you're looking for a super dealer to work with, give Joe a shout. He does a great job!  Joe, are you going to be at RMAF this year?
