Sometime ago we had a modded 500/1000wpc amp that we could use for what we called the
PBS (Powered Bass System)
That amp, was available to us from an OEM and
Big B would tweak it a bit to make it work as he wanted it to with our VMPS FloorStanding Speakers to power the
BASS (woofer system) to
THUNDEROUS yet harmonically accurate and
detailed Low Frequencies.
Quite a few of you have these wonderful systems. At that time we could offer it as either a Plate Amp, or as a Stackable Component and of course it was a monobloc.
But. . .the OEM eventually changed the amp design so it couldn't easily be modded to hit the frequencies we needed and the PBS fell away. . . until now.
Last Jan we partnered up with
Wyred4Sound in Vegas and have been looking over their wonderful line of integrated amps to be put in service for the
PBS purposes. They are a natural. Lots of power, high damping (2000 @ 100Hz 8ohm), and amperage galore to grip B's WOOFs like they mean it.
We have the following PBS:
PBS 500 which employs the
STI 500 (500wpc to each woofer)
PBS 1000 which employs the
STI 1000 (1000wpc to each woofer)
Each amp has a volume control to adjust the Bass system to the blend you like the best for your system, room and listening preferences.
And for you who have been toying with the idea of TUBES on top and SS on the BASS, this is the system 4U.
Also available is the
Stereo and Monobloc versions (not integrated) which DO NOT have volume controls so they are only available for those with D-OXO which allows you to perform your balancing inside the D-OXO.
You haven't really heard what your VMPS Floorstanders sound like in the
DEEP BASS Underworld until you have strapped
500-1000w on and hit the play button
