Line Arrays at the RMAF
« on: 9 Sep 2007, 04:28 pm »
I checked the exhibitor list to see who'll be there, but I have no insider information on who will be bringing what speakers.

McIntosh exhibited their line arrays last year and are on this year's list, so I assume they will have arrays there.

IDS introduced their full range driver arrays at last year's show, but they're not on this year's exhibitor list.

AV123 will be there again for 2007; I don't know what they will exhibit. I'm hoping either they or GR Research will have a pair of the large arrays there.

Selah Audio will be there, but Rick doesn't plan to bring any of his arrays.

Seveal GR Research fans have encouraged Danny to bring a pair of the LS-9's, but as far as I know he hasn't decided. How about it Danny?   :thumb:

LS-9's will be there.  :green:

I am thinking of having a little listening party some time pretty soon. It will have to be on a Saturday. I could do a small group on the 15th or 22nd. It depends on how is interested.

If they are there this year, hopefully they won't be in a ballroom again.

While they were absolutely stunning from the midrange up, the bass was weak and almost non-existent (in relative terms).

I didn't hear them at the show but l've listened to them in Clement Perry's (Stereo Times editor) system. He was running them with subs and the sound was really good.

I saved pictures of the line arrays at the RMAF. The caption under each picture includes a link to the company's web site, but surprisingly several of these web sites make no mention of their line array speakers.

We don't have the LS6 and LS9 on our site yet (AV123) as the speakers are not available for sale yet.  That said, we do have extensive info in a single thread (http://www.av123forum.com/showthread.php?t=13909) on our forum in our news section.

Thanks!

Sean
