true Tull from Aqualung on were a smashing success and Hicks/ Bromberg and the like were well below the popular radar. Although at the time of "Stand Up" Tull were still well below the radar.
a band I really like that I do not think ever had a really big following is the Blasters.
to this day in his solo career Dave Alvin (of the Blasters) is an incredibly good song writer (the critics love him- but the fans are limited) as is Peter Wolf (former J Giles Band) both of these guys seem way too far below the radar for their contributions.
but a lot of great music is overlooked all the time, its just very strange when say Peter Wolf is overlooked considering the popularity of his band in the day, reaally I guess its not that strange there are other band creators who go on infact grow considerably in their art (read for me better) but loose a substantial chunk of their audience.
