Welcome aboard! Why  2X  ow1/ow4? Where do you plan on xing over the mid driver?

2x was to get a true dipole even in the HF? Linkwitz found that the true dipole sounded better in his Orion+.

I would like the mid driver to operate from say 200Hz to 4khz I am not sure if the Augies can go as high as 200Hz though. The reason for me to consider a fullrange (widerange) driver for the midrange is becuase most other 6-8" drivers have poor dispersion above 1k (for 8") or 2k (for 6"). I figured that the Supravox 165-64 (not the bicone or the signature) or the Visaton B200 would be better.

With almost everyone vouching for the Augies (over the Selenium, Precision, Emience options) I now only have to select the midrnage and hf. The amplification is going to be a EL34 amp (which I later plan to modify to accomodate 6550 instead), I intend to wire it for Triode mode as I dont have a need for huge SPLs anymore.

Just to given you a point of reference, my present speakers are 4 Audio Concpets DV12 in 2 130 liter boxes, mated to 4 ScanSpeak 18W8546 and 2 2905-9900 in MTM. Prior to these I had a pair of JBL 2245 in B460 bins, mated to 4 Focal 8N515 and 2 Morel MDT33 in MTM. I dont need huge SPLs anymore and the BOOM of the ported (2245) and sealed (DV12) boxes was getting more irriatating. Besides a dipole is rather shallow and can be moved out of the way smack against the wall when NOT is use.
