I am getting ready to go to a PC based digital front end.
If I use the output from my soundcard, I get all kinds of interference from I believe, the internal hard drive and the wireless network connection. Will I get noise/interference using a USB DAC? I plan on buying 2 outboard 500 gig hard drives, one for everyday use, one for backup. These will hold music files only, in FLAC format. I'm not thinking of doing the Squeezebox- I will be using Foobar 2000 as my playback program.
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 2200 1.4G Celeron, 1.2 Gig RAM. WD 120 GB internal drive.
Any input is appreciated.
