Julia Fischer Bach Violin Sonatas
Beethoven Symphony 9
Pat Metheny 'One Quiet Night'
Respighi (Reference Recordings RR-95)
Kenny Barron 'Live at Bradley's'
Great sound and performances!

PS: My favorite 1812 is on this great Tchaikovsky set.
Have fun!  :D

von Karajan's 1963(?) 9th is much more expansive and powerful.  That famous BPO sound too.  Relatively, the Minnesota version sound small-scaled.  Beethoven's 9 is meant to be powerful, esp. with the Ode finale.  Well, personal taste dictates.  Karajan's earlier reading (all 9) is available in a SACD collection, so it must have some weight for DG to reissue a 40+ old collection.  I happen to have both 9's.  Karajan's wins hands down.  Karajan's 2nd in that same collection, it's Larghetto movement is smoooooooth! :thumb:
