Soldering help in metro Detroit...
« on: 10 Jul 2007, 04:44 pm »
Hi guys & gals,

I made the unfortunate mistake of breaking a cartridge clip off of my new RB300 arm when trying to setup my recently acquired Lenco turntable.  :duh:

My question is basically to find out if anyone in the area would be willing to help with a repair on this.  I figured I would ask on AC before I try to ship it somewhere for repair.

If you know of an audio shop that could help with this I would be interested to know that also.

If you are around the metro area and willing to help let me know.  Thanks

Nick

What town are you in?

Do you need something soldered?  Wires or parts?  I have 3 different size soldering irons/guns and am pretty handy.

Nick,
Did you get this problem resolved? If not if you want to ship it to me I'll fix it for you and send it back to you, no charge.

Regards,
John

Edit: Found this photo, did one of the pins just break off of the wire?

Thanks for the offer John.  That is really generous of you. :thumb:  You are correct that one of the pins broke off of the wire where it connects to the cartridge.

I was lucky enough to have an offer from someone else local that helped me out.

Thanks to Big Red Machine!  :D

AC is a great place to hang out and truly is an audio community.

I really appreciate everything.

Thanks,

Nick
