Be sure to take pictures of your loved ones
« on: 24 Jul 2007, 09:22 pm »
My birthday was yesterday. The good news is that my wife purchased a Philips Digital Photo Frame for me.  The bad news is that her dad passed away this morning from cancer.  That's the second parent/step-parent we've had pass away in the last six months.  Neither of them will ever get to see our child, who is due in a mere two weeks.  I'm trying to find pictures of my step father (passed away in January from cancer) and my father-in-law (passed away today) to put them on this new device, and I'm having a hard time finding any.  I also want to put some pictures of my dad (who has prostate cancer) on here, but am also having a hard time finding any.

Take pictures of your family now, and put them somewhere safe.

Oh yeah -- come early if you think there's any chance a family member is nearing death.  Last night, Paul had no idea that it was my birthday even when told; and this is a guy who sends you cards for Administrative Professionals day.  Yet on this past Friday, we had a slide show, and he was lucid and told us which people were in the photos.  Similarly, my step-father had a great day, where he watched tons of football and played Jeopardy.  Within a few days, he'd passed.

Bob,

Sorry to hear about your loss.  I completely agree with you on taking pictures and videos.  Make sure you have your video charged up and set at best quality when your baby is delivered.

Wishing you the best on your forthcoming addition and sending my condolences on your recent loss.

Bob,

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I completely agree about taking pictures, but equally important is spending time with our loved ones.

Too often now, the family is put on the back-burner for our careers and other endeavors.

I know that I am often guilty of this, and I am working on spending more time with my kids and wife.

In fact, right now my wife is in California on her yearly trip to see her family.  It's too bad that they live 3000 miles away, but at least they get to see the boys once a year.
