I have decided to put my once-in-a lifetime speakers up for sale to the right owner. I will NOT ship these unless you, the buyer, makes all arraangements...with the original box, they round out at about 200lbs. each.
These are very highly rated and I have done a side-by-side comparison to some of the really excellent speakers, and the Caldera's won every time. Just to name a few, the JM Lab Ultima Nova and Alto ($40K and $18K speakers); the Von Schweikert 5SE's ($26.5K); Dynaudio Evidence Temptation and the Confidence C4 ($35K and $20K); the Revel Salons and Studios and many less expensive speakers....
I have powered these with my Mac 501's in mono and using a BAT VK55 in stereo. They just sound wonderful. The Scanspeak Ring Radiator can be replaced with the new Holographic Tweeter that has been the talk of the town, and most recently seen in the very highly acclaimed Avanti V's, which are almost impossible to get now and will cost you around $15K.
These speakers are in the very beautiful Ebony, which is presently a $5K upgrade bringing a new pair of these to almost $40K. They were $33K when I purchased them only 7 months ago.
Now to the reason I am selling. We had been planning a move to our new retirement home where I was having a "music" room and a Home Theater room built. Unfortunately, an earlier than scheduled retirement has changed our lifestyle and our future plans and put many things on hold....so...............my loss can be your gain.
The speakers are presently being demoed at DigitalEar in Tustin, CA and I can make arrangements to have them returned to my home in Huntington Beach with just a couple of days notice.
I will take paypal if you are willing to pay the additional 2.9% I would be charged, otherwise a bank check or cashiers check with verifiable funds is required.
I can make appointments at my home with only a couple of days notice to listen to these great speakers......just bring your own music. I have a Modified EAD Signature Classic and Transport, and I also have a Meridian G68 and G98 if interested.
