I see lots of newstand magazines and user forums like the avs forum but is there a good quality online magazine about home theatre (like six moons, positive feedback, enjoy the music, soundstage, etc for audio)?

I like most of the ones that you mention for Audio, and for HT, I tend towards looking to these guys.  Secrets of Home Theater.

Are they close to what you seek?  Too mainstream still?

I'm not aware of an online magazine equivalent to those you mention.  That's unfortunate.  The closest might be http://www.avsforum.com/ There are lots of interesting threads there, but really they should allow threads to be broken down more.  Some interesting threads get entirely too long and are not topic focused enough.  But lots of good info is there, and the search function works well.

The audiogon.com forums and videogon.com are also helpful.

:
For all things about front projectors I have found this link most helful: http://www.projectorcentral.com/  Also http://projectorcatalog.com/

There is also some information, but more importantly great prices AND knowledgeable service, the kind we used to get from the local high end audio store, at http://www.projectorpeople.com/  Unfortunately there isn't a high end audio equivalent of this type of online store with knowledge, service and better prices.

You can get widescreen review in online-only mode.  It's a very good magazine, I think.  Also, I like projectorreviews better than projectorcentral.

Amazing to me how rich and diverse audio is vs home theatre which is basically the same 5 or 6 brands with most doing the same thing (with people stunned when someone like Rotel thinks a little out of the box).  Sometimes it amazes me how we sustain all the small industry (online reivew magazines included) in audio and would have expected same for HT but guess it is just too early or does not lend itself the same way to the energy that audio as a hobby and industry generates.

There's a lot of brands out there, but I think people get pigeonholed into wanting your typical "receiver" and set of speakers that look nice in the living room and fit with the decor.
